OpenAero DFW

OpenAero DFW is a free flight simulator that runs in a web browser, flown over real satellite imagery of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. You can fly a Boeing 737-800, a Cessna 172S or an F-16C with a six-degree-of-freedom flight model, over runways drawn from real survey data at DFW, Love Field, Alliance, Addison, Grand Prairie and Fort Worth Meacham. Today's METAR weather drives the wind, visibility and ceiling, and every landing is graded. Assist levels (Kid, Learner, Pilot) take a first-timer from a coached flight to the raw airplane over the same physics. There is no install and no account; it is made by Mutaaf Aziz and developed by three scheduled Claude Code agents.

Features

Questions

Is OpenAero DFW free?
Yes. It runs free in a web browser, with no install and no account.
Does it work on a phone or iPad?
Yes. Phones and tablets get an on-screen stick and throttle; computers use the keyboard, a mouse yoke or a gamepad. It can also be added to the home screen to open full screen.
Is it suitable for kids?
Yes. The Kid assist level gives a forgiving, coached flight with envelope protection, and Kid mode shows no ads at all. Pilot mode is the raw airplane for experienced players.
Does it collect data or show ads?
There is no account, and personal bests are kept on the device. The game has no analytics or trackers. Outside flight, Google ads tagged as child-directed may appear on the start screen and between flights; there are no ads in flight, and the rewarded ad is opt-in.
Is the weather real?
Yes, when it says live: the sim uses today's METAR from aviationweather.gov for the airport you fly to, and shows a clear offline fallback when it can't reach it.
What can I fly?
A Boeing 737-800, a Cessna 172S Skyhawk and an F-16C, from or into DFW, Love Field, Alliance, Addison, Grand Prairie and Fort Worth Meacham.
